One artist
The collections, but especially the backgrounds that Nicole Dana, artist and porcelain painter, uses for her brushwork are original: porcelain paintings, beautifully decorated trays with a pure porcelain object, unique teapots, « porcelines » that match beautifully with the verrines of your most beautiful tables…
Her career path even better.
Nicole Dana is an artist at heart and is one of those people who decide to « leave it all behind » and start a new life.
Nicole Dana is actually a surgical dentist in orthodontics when she decides to devote herself to her passion: painting. At first glance, the decision seems difficult, but the budding artist knows it and will become a professional painter, as she has always dreamed.
Her path then takes the long-awaited turn, and to achieve the goals that Nicole Dana has set for herself, she is trained in two ways: classical and Asian.
On the one hand, Nicole Dana opted for courses organised at the famous Musée de Sèvres. There she learned the great classics of porcelain painting. But even here, the artist leaves the beaten path to continue her artistic research and, above all, to be inspired: Asia. The trigger is undoubtedly her son, who himself loves to travel back and forth between the two continents several times. So Nicole lets herself be trained on site by a master. He teaches her this unique brushstroke that leaves wonderful games of transparencies on the carefully selected substrates.
Nicole Dana is featured in the latest edition of the Guide des Céramistes.
Her studio has been awarded the » Talents de France « seal of approval (a seal of approval that guarantees the production of French artisans: Small series, unique pieces and original creations, all with a national guarantee of quality).
The report of the France 3 french channel TV for its program » Nouvelle Adresse « explains this unusual course very well.
The Asian imprint still has a great influence on the inspiration of the artist.
Since 2012, she has organized porcelain painting workshops.
« For me, traditions and creations can live happily together. Always in search of beauty, sometimes fatal aesthetics, sometimes mystery, but in any case an invitation to dream. I believe that in nature you can find multiple forms of beauty. A migratory bird, a bee, a poppy, a rainbow are the keywords of a score in which the brush finds its rhythm and expression. »
